We moved to the Bloomington area in the spring of 2006 due to a job transfer. We found a house we really liked, but having a home theater wasn’t initially in our plans. We have seen a couple very impressive systems at other homes in the past few years, but with their systems and installation costing upwards of $200,000, that was just not a realistic option for us.
We looked at systems at a Home Theater showroom in the Chicago suburbs when we were shopping for appliances for our new home. They had 5 different set-ups, each with variations of quality, themes and components. The lower end set-ups were just not very impressive. However, their top of the line "Godfather Room" was awesome. It had the look and feel of a rich old house: dark walls, mahogany trim, dark leather recliners, automatic dimmers for the lights, and a 100" screen with a projection system and audio system that was better than the movie theaters. It was awesome! Then we looked at the price for the components as a do-it-yourself project. The costs were far more than we were expecting and way out of our price range. We thought that was the end of it.
After getting settled in our new home, we did some more research via the Internet. We checked pricing for components, seating, audio systems and the like to get an idea of what we could do for our budget. We noticed a sign at a neighbor’s advertising Impressive Home Theaters. We contacted Dustin and the rest is history. Dustin came out, listened to what we wanted out of a home theater, and took the time to discuss our options based on our input and available space. We did some more research – acoustical insulation, projector qualities, speakers, seating, etc., and contacted Dustin to get his opinions. After a few more phone and in-home consultations, Dustin came up with a plan to fit our dreams and our budget.
Installation was nothing less than absolute professionalism. Dustin and his team came in when we were in the construction phase of our theater room and installed the wiring and even thought of our future needs for with HDMI cables for high definition TV. Once we had the room finished, the IHT team came back and put in the projector, screen and speakers. They even cleaned up their mess when done and tested the system to ensure it was perfect. Dustin’s recommendations for slightly higher end speakers and the felt trim for the projection screen was excellent advice and well worth the little additional costs involved. Now we have our own "Godfather Room" that meets or exceeds any rooms we have experiences at a fraction of the costs. Just look at the pictures and come by to experience it for yourself. You cannot beat the expertise for component selection, professional installation, or the price that IHT offers. We couldn’t be more satisfied, thrilled and happy with our new home theater room, thanks to Dustin and his team!

My wife and I searched for months for the right business to mount and wire our new plasma and surround sound system. The trick was, we were mounting the TV above a gas burning fireplace, wanted to have all the wiring hidden and have the components in a nearby closet. Obviously we had some questions like will that even work and be safe. The "big" stores in town all shrugged and said, "yeah, that will probably work," but wouldn't come out to make sure without charging $100. We also had another business tell us we would need to drill outside the house and use pvc piping to have all the wires hidden!! Alas, we were very discouraged at what we were told, but knew there had to be a way to get what we wanted.
Finally an acquaintance told us about Dustin. We called Dustin at IHT and within a few days they stopped by (free of charge) to assess the situation and make recommendations for the set up. They assured us that what we wanted could be a reality. When we decided to go with IHT, they worked around my availability and were able to schedule to do the install within the week. I was extremely pleased with the install and the commitment to make sure everything worked completely and exactly how I wanted. This includes stopping by to fix minor things at no charge even when it was user error.
Here's the kicker, the real demonstration of how IHT is above and beyond the rest. About two months after the install was complete, there was a recall on my TV’s ambilight feature. The gentleman that fixed the ambilight was very uncertain how to dismount and remount the TV. IHT worked with the repairman over the phone instructing him how to take the TV off the wall and put it back on. I talked to Dustin later that day and mentioned that I was not happy with the way the repairman remounted the TV as it was not level. IHT came out and remounted the TV about three days later, again at no charge!!!
I know why that acquaintance spoke so highly of IHT, and now, I do too.

We had a wonderful experience in having IHT install our new plasma TV and Dish Network. Dustin came to our house and provided us with his professional recommendation on the proper placement of our new plasma to allow the best viewing and sound quality while also having all our other additional components properly working. They programmed a very cool universal remote and showed us in great detail how it all worked together. We were extremely impressed with their technical knowledge on all the products that were installed. The system we chose was not a simple plug and play system but the highly skilled crew at IHT made it look simple, they even eliminated the use of multiple cables allowing the wiring to be virtually invisible. Best of all their customer service is extraordinary. Dustin checked in several times after the install to make sure everything was properly working and to see if we were satisfied with the products and answering any questions we may have had.
